Commenters: Make Every Comment Worth Reading

Please don't leave comments that earn me angry phone calls, because I don't need it and it undermines what we're trying to build here: A credible forum where people use anonymity because of legitimate concerns of retaliation - not because you want to cowardly lash out with cheap shots. Cut the hyperbole. Make your point artfully and stay away from the inflammatory bunk.

Thank you.

That's why I read this blog everyday. Most of the people sign their names, or at least are civil in the comments. Dan Kaman

When will all the deception at the commission table end? We have so much that is being done behind closed doors and no one commissioner knows how to take control of the situation. There is no leadership. Kline and Stahl are the only ones that know what is going on and the rest of us including the commissioners have to get their information somewhere else or learn it on the streets. Sthal needs to step down as president of council.

The "games" as I call them, will only end when you have 4 commissioners not willing to "play" but to actually do what is right by the citizens. Dan Kaman

Maybe we should have a trial period for elected commissioners. If they fail to do what the citizens elected them to do, they get terminated immediatly and replaced with the next largest vote getter. The citizens could take a poll to decide if the commissioners is doing a good job or not. After 6 months on the job if the citizens think he or she is not doing what is best for the citizens then that person could be removed post haste.

Wow, Dan. I knew I liked you, and was glad I voted for you, but that last comment made me REALLY proud.

It woul;d be easy for me to go "over the top" if I posted anonymosuly. Signing my name keeps me accountable and I have to think a little bit harder before I decide to hit that enter button.

Until we get those "4 commissioners" on that won't play games we will continue to do our best to demand accountability, and if it doesn't change, make our voices heard in Novemnber. Keep up the fight, Dan!

I guess I should proofread before I hit that enter button, too, huh? lol

To: Citizens Kane, I don't think 6 months is long enough but four years is! Dan Kaman

Maybe we should have the terms changed and have two year terms instead of four year terms for the commissioners allowing four years max that they could serve instead of 8. I think we could easily pass a petition around for signatures to change the terms. That way, we could easily rotate the controlling-no comment-and-you- don't-need-to-know, ones out of there instead of waiting four years to get them out.

I support looking into changing the whole form of government. We need a "Buck stops here" person. Term limits are fine if you have 11 people run every cycle so we get a choice. Dan Kaman

Dan, Change of government is not the answer because it is the people who run our town, same power only different people. There are so many people out there that could run and are involved in the community who would make good candidates. City hall is such a mess that I don't think anyone would want the job. Everyone of the commissioners are bobbing their heads all in one direction and rubber stamping everything without thinking or asking questions. The commissioners have total confidence in staff not to question anything and that to me doesn't make me feel secure that you are working on my behalf.

I agree there are a lot of good people out there butt....as you have seen once they get elected they forget WHY they said they were running and seem to tend to their own agenda. They seem to shy away from doing the right thing because it may effect a friend or associate. It can't be personal, it's has to be buisness. I would love to see 11 people run everytime. Dan Kaman
